Well this was bog standard vanilla ice cream. The stuff I had in Italy (and Sicily) was heavenly; it must have had cocaine in it like Mrs Doyle's cake wink.gif
My next attempt will of course be coffee-flavour ice cream (to go with the coffee-flavour tablet). Maybe I'll serve it in a Hoegaarden glass! (thinks - beer flavour ice cream?!)

I think beer flavour ice cream is worth at least one attempt, even if creating something likely to taste good is a kind of dark thaumaturgy laugh.gif

I guess if you used chopped cherries as well as the beer that would go well; I found that cherry beer wasn't that cherryish!
I did it with chocolate and it was nice, but it's a lot of effort to make you realise what the ingrediants are, of something it's easier to buy!

One large portion has two egg yolks, 25g of sugar, 120 ml of double cream!
