Continuing on from my carpet-bombing of the forums with wine comments/threads, what are people heres favourite wines. Just say where it was from, what grape varietals, and any other pertinent information as well as your thoughts...as well as where you can buy it!

OK, I'll kick it off...
Since I've not been into wine that long I have only a few, both red and both of them French...
2000 Blason D'Issan - Margaux - Stunning red, velvet smooth and an amazing smell, almost perfumed €14

1994 Chateau Haut-Batailley - Pauillac - Ballsy, smooth but hardly easy going. Powerful red with loads of character €16

Neither are that hard to get hold of but worth having at a decent meal (I had them at christmas).

This is a gooooooood thread to have because I always get to the end of a bottle and think "That was great, I must remember the name and buy it again", open another bottle and proceed to forget to write it down!!
One that I can remember would be Domaine Lalande Gewurztraminer that we got as a gift years ago and eventually managed to find by the case on Laithwaites but they sadly don't do it anymore. |

Yes, that is now making me think I was entirely wrong with the grape variety (see what happens when I don't write these things down!!) and that I think Laithwaites still sell it (viognier)!

Tonight Brian, I am drinking this:

OMG, Superman wine I feel invincible.... perhaps that is the wine itself
Bloody good, award winning red with a nice velvety feel. Worth the €9.99 I paid.
